Subculture – Blog 5

The neo-Nazi movement in Germany has taken advantage of the addiction of youth to the ‘hipster’ subculture to form a new ‘more socially open’ fascist movement, which recruits young people approaching them through fashion trends.
New recruits from the far-right movement have invaded social networks and YouTube through the ‘hipsterfication’ of the neo-Nazi movement, thereby gaining more support among young people in Germany. The term ‘nipster’, which identifies the members of this movement, was offered by the magazine ‘Rolling Stone’, which interviewed Patrick Schroeder, one of the faces of the Nazi hipsters movement, who hopes to give him a social face and more friendly politician.
Schroeder conducts seminars saying that neo-Nazis should dress in a less threatening and more fashionable way, because that way young people from other subcultures can join the Nazi movement. Nazis ‘fashion’ wear tight jeans, wear tote bags and brightly colored glasses along with beards and modern hairstyles.

Lewis Model – Blog 4

The differences regarding the classification according to the Lewis model are marked, while Colombia is one of the most Multi-Active countries that exist, Germany is one of the most Linear-Active according to this model. The problems in case of a visit of a German to Barranquillero soil can range from cases of unpunctuality, because for the Germans time is very valuable, otherwise for Colombians and in particular the Costeños who do not see time as a priority. Regarding the conversations there could be dislikes of the kind that the Barranquillero does not let the German speak or that the German be very dry in his expressions and the Barranquillero feels offended. Regarding personal space, because the Colombian is very emotional, it may overwhelm a German visitor because they do not show their affections even having close relationships.

Blog 3 – Hofstede´s model

Colombia and Germany show three dimensions with similarity and three dimensions of complete contrast, we frame in this blog the dimensions in which there is greater contrast. Regarding Individualism, we Colombians interdependently depend on the performance of our colleagues in terms of work, studies and others, while Germans are first aware of the results they achieve in different fields. Regarding Long Term orientation it is observed that Colombians never think about planning a better future, they just let things happen without long-term plans, contrary to the Germans who study and invest time in preparation making a high investment of time in his youth and then stabilize economically. One of the greatest similarities is Masculinity, Both Colombia and Germany are driven by a macho society, in which the value of competitiveness and the achievement of achievements are appreciated.

Gender roles

On this issue the two nations have much in common, from Germany there is a false myth that they have reached gender equality, but that is not the case, the fact that they have a woman Chancellor (Angela Merkel) does not mean that have achieved equal gender, on the contrary, with respect to their neighbors in the European Union is well below the average in this issue, since it occupies the 25th position of the 28 European countries in terms of gender inequality, a bad performance that is noted when verifying employment statistics, which shows that German women are almost absent in the management positions of the 160 German companies listed on the stock market, thus being 93% of men who occupy these positions as members of the board of directors. Similar case in Colombia, where although there is a woman vice president and the efforts by the current government to reach gender equality by appointing 8 of the 16 ministries under the orders of women, however, in the private sector their participation is very late Even in the academic sector, women in Colombia prefer to study careers not related to STEM

STEREOTYPES ABOUT GERMANY

In this drawing the stereotypes of a German are observed, they are very similar types, dressed in the German hiker uniform: shorts, light-colored socks, sandals and hats. This stereotype is based on the Germans of the movies. Also in the picture is a German with a beer in his hand, because they are known as beer lovers, in fact, they have one of the best known festivals worldwide called «Oktoberfest». Regarding what the cloud says, it is about silence, they are silent men, they don’t like to talk and when they do they are clear and concise with what they say, short, punctual. I think this because of movies I’ve seen.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
